The Story Behind Azuluméa

Some names are carefully planned.

Others just happen.

Azuluméa was one of those.

It started with “Azul”, a name that has followed Christina for more than twenty years.

Christina has always had many versions of herself: mom, wife, entrepreneur, interior designer, friend… and Azul.

Azul was simply the name given to another side of her, the one who says yes, dances first, laughs easily, and doesn't always take everything quite so seriously.

Not a different person. Just another part of the same one.

When it came time to create this retreat, Christina knew she wanted the name to capture the feeling Azul had always carried: lightness, curiosity, connection, and play.

So the search began.

There were words. Languages. Lists. Scribbles. A few names that sounded much better in theory than they did out loud.

Then came lumea, a Romanian word that can mean “the world, the people, everyone.”

Put Azul in front of it. Play with the spelling. Say it out loud.

Azuluméa.

And somehow, it made sense.

Azuluméa - a world of your own. Shared.

A place to bring all the different parts of yourself. To meet new people. To make something. To laugh. To wander. To play.

Nothing to become.

Just a little more room to be.
